Risks and events that shaped my life

Cancer was definately an obstacle in my life. That caused me to be weak and the funny thing is, that I still won Tour De France when I was sick, but that was before it got bad. The doctors told me I would probably only have one year to live when diagnosed with cancer in 1996. But I took a big risk, as medicine made me very sick but it cured my cancer. Now a big event in my life was winning the Tour De France six times in a row but I had to have help from my team. I know I get all the credit but my team should because when it is windy my team will get in front of me to block the wind, so I couldn't do it with out them.

Traits

People say that I have perseverance , because I don't let anything get in my way or stop me. My biggest challenge was defeating cancer, but I can tell I will have more challenges in my way that I will preserver til I win. Also I would never give up that easy because I promised my mom that I would never give up. Another word that would describe me would be athletic, because it's not easy to bike 2,000 miles in the Tour De France. I train daily to be as good as I am and I hope my determination will inspire people. One more trait to describe me is thankful. I never knew how good life was until I almost lost it. When I defeated cancer, I was so thankful that I was able to live again and also bike again. When I had cancer I had to take a medicine that made me very sick. I was constantly vomiting and losing hair
but that cured the cancer. I also try to inspire people through my actions by showing them they can fight cancer.

world effect

When I over came cancerin 1997, it inspired people to never quit. I started a group of known as Livestrong. A group that inspired people to fight the disease known as cancer. My cancer caused me to lose control of my body and I had to take a pill that made me very sick but it killed the cancer. After that I started to race again. I came back and won Tour De France. I hope to be remembered, not just be as just being a great bike rider but over coming cancer as it was an amazing challenge. Hopefully, this shows that this is possible. I hope that I inspired people by biking but I hope I motivated them more by over coming cancer.

Young Lance

I'm Lance Armstrong, I was born on September 18, 1971. I grew up in a town of Plano, Texas. My mom and dad got divorced when I was a little baby. My mom taught me to work hard and never give up. I live by that slogan every day. When I was young, I knew I wasn't fast but I knew I could run for along time. So I started to do long races and found to like them. I would practice every day by running 6 miles, because I didn't like to lose. My first race I ever won was the Iron Kids Triathlon. I knew I wanted to shoot higher in my abilities. In 1988, I was named Rookie Of The Year for triathlons. I got a call by the US Olympic committee and they wanted me to race in the Olympics. I tried my best in the olimpics and won the bronze medal.
